Teaching Assistant [United Kingdom]

Teaching Assistant Needed

We work with a Primary School located in Stroud which is a lovely school that really promotes inclusivity and equal opportunities, and they are looking for a full time Teaching Assistant to join them for the next academic year. The school is a Church of England school and is small in size. The school really focuses on teaching their students tolerance and being respectful to each other. In the most recent Ofsted report, the school was rated as ‘good’.

The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant for the next academic year, which will be starting on September 1st. This position is being offered on a full time basis Monday-Friday, with the hours each day being 8:30-3:30. The ability to manage behaviour is really important to the school as there can sometimes be challenging behavior displayed, so you must be confident in your ability to handle this.

What will you do on a daily basis?

  • Support the teacher in their teaching of the class, ensuring any tasks are completed which would aid the lesson plan.
  • Ensure students are supported in their learning, any 1:1 support being provided if this is needed.
  • The role is likely to include taking students out to go over their reading and any extra work set by the Teacher.
  • Providing supervision of the students over break times.

What does the school strive for to achieve?

“We pride ourselves on our shared school ethos, how we care for all our children and the rich opportunities we offer all our children. Through our Christian ethos we work together to develop enquiring minds, a spirit of curiosity, tolerance, and resilience. We value every member of our school community for who they are. Through challenge, support and building positive relationships, we pursue excellence in all we do.”
